When You Don't Feel Comfortable.
By Chris Tupper D.C.
Covid-19 has changed the way we live. This, however, isn't the first time something like this has happened.
In 1918, there was an outbreak of Influenza. It was quite devastating. It was estimated that over one third of the world's population were infected.
In the church I'm a member of, passing the Sacrament, which consists of bread and water, helps us to renew our baptismal covenants. It is an important and sacred ordinance. Before 1912, a single Goblet was used, and all members participating took a sip. It was reported that early members who partook of the Sacrament found that "it contained all kinds of debris, hair, and foul smells." Members often coveted sitting in the front of the chapel to be the first to partake of the water.
This practice was not unique to the church. Many churches, schools, and trains used the common cup practice.
Legislation was passed in 1912 for sanitary health and safety guidelines. In the church, it was decided that individual cups would replace the single Goblet for Sacrament.
Sometimes, it is necessary to make changes in our lives. It isn't always easy, but can be worth it.
At our office, to address these concerns, we only see one patient at a time. All surfaces used are wiped down between visits. We also use multiple HEPA filtration and UV devices to reduce airborne pathogens.
We also offer our services in your home.
We want you to be comfortable in our office or your home to receive excellent healthcare.
